"A little bit of encuentro in London ..."

At Juntos we aim to provide an experience of the Argentinian Tango

within a friendly community setting that is a traditional milonga.

For us, a tango dancer who improves the ronda is a good dancer;

a dancer who makes the ronda beautiful is better than a beautiful dancer.

This is our fundamental principle and Juntos reflects this.

The community of dancers at Juntos aim to preserve tango's precious characteristics:

  • courtesy & care, so people can relax and enjoy themselves
  • use of the mirada / cabeceo and respect for the códigos
  • the closed embrace, the couple soft and precise, using their entire body in their proposal and response
  • the couple dancing for the ronda first, for each other second, and for the tables not at all
  • the ability to make the dance flow well, and so maintain the communal circulation on the floor
  • the spontaneous creation of emotional and rhythmical variations by using simple grounded steps
  • meeting as equals, recognising that differences between us are either unimportant or enriching.
  • having the humility to keep developing as a tango dancer, and so inspire others to do the same

 juntos,  Spanish,  derived from the Latin junct-,  past participle of jungere -  to join:

 juntos means together, close together, united

and is used in relation to a group of persons joined for a common purpose.
